additional information on how to join our lodge, please contact the Chair to the Membership Relations Committee for help; however, any member of our Lodge will be pleased to respond to any interest you may have by answering questions and helping you or any potential candidates join, if it they so desire. Asking to join is the essential first step. To Be One Ask One ! A common misconception about Freemasonry is that one must be asked to join, when in fact, there are strict rules which prohibit Masons from directly soliciting or recruiting new members. Instead, it is up to a non-Mason to seek out a Blue Lodge, where one receives the first three degrees in Masonry. One must join at his own volition! Although it will not guarantee admission, knowing a Mason is a great way into our Blue Lodge. This brother may recommend you to the Lodge and vouch for you as an upright citizen; however, knowing a Mason isn't required. Petitions must meet the following criteria: a.) must be a male of lawful age (In Texas at least 18yrs old); b.) must be of good moral character; c.) must “be of sound mind and members”; e.) must “come under the tongue of good report”; f.) must openly profess a faith in God; g.) must have a desire to join; g.) and lastly, but most importantly, "must knock and the door of Freemasonry will be opened unto you!!" |
