Chair Person: Gary Hill, PM Members: Andrew Rorhbacher, Cervando Gonzalez, John Hansen Email: membership@tannehill52.org Preservation of Historical Documents Committee (PHDC) The Preservation of Historical Documents plays a vital role in the existence and longevity of the Lodge. This committee is tasked with interviewing three experts in the field of archiving, preservation, and restoration of historical documents, and other materials. One expert is to be selected and retained as a professional consultant and guide for said purposes. A team is to be trained by said expert. Phase one of this essential project is to categorize, identify, inventory, rate the condition of the materials, and set forth a plan of action going forward based on these results. Most of the labor intensive and cost prohibitive tasks will be performed by the members of the lodge, thus saving our treasury significant amounts of funds. The intent is to immediately publish via our web-page some of the "Original Minutes" of the Lodge, dating back to 1849. Since the City of Dallas was pretty much conceived in Tannehill Lodge No. 52, we are furthermore eager to launch in the not to distant future a Masonic Library and Museum. A place where the public can not only come to learn about the rich history of the City of Dallas, but also about Freemasonry, what it is; what it does, why it does what it does, and how it benefits the communities of the world, and more especially, the greatest community of all -- the City of Dallas. The public school systems would benefit from said venture, in that Masons are the founders of "public education". The numerous independent school districts would be encouraged to bring their pupils on field trips. All non-profit organizations of an educational nature would also take advan- tage of the opportunity. The traffic the museum would create will also indirectly aid the city in the removal of the homeless in the vicinity, and attract more visitors and tourists to this area of downtown.
