A Freemason is a good and moral man that belongs to the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world dating back to the times before Christ to the times of King Solomon and beyond. Today, there are more than two million Freemasons in North America. The Fraternity is a brotherhood comprised of a volunteer army of men who have devoted their lives to self-improvement, stewardship, and philanthropy. Members come from all walks of life, all races, all creeds and religions. They unite together in order to alleviate the pain and suffering of those in their times of need, and they "contribute to the relief of poor and penniless Master Masons, there widows and orphans," throughout the world. Freemasons represent virtually every occupation and profession, yet within the Fraternity, all come together as equals. They come from diverse backgrounds and political ideologies, yet meet as One Body, together as friends. Freemasons also ome from varied religious beliefs and creeds, yet all believe in one God or Supreme Being. |
